Tao Te Ching Journey

3rd Verse – Tao Te Ching

“Putting a value on status
will create contentiousness.
If you overvalue possessions,
people begin to steal.
By not displaying what is desirable, you will
cause the people’s hearts to remain undisturbed.

The sage governs
by emptying minds and hearts,
by weakening ambitions and strengthening bones.

Practice not doing . . .
When action is pure and selfless,
everything settles into its own perfect place.”

~ Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life by Dr. Wayne Dyer

This verse  was one to think about and reflect on my own life. From discussions and readings, I have come to realize that you must be content with what you have in your life and let go of the EGO. I think this is how we should live our lives. We need to empty our minds of our status and start thinking about serving others. Especially with the world today, we need to motivate and influence others in a positive way.

Wayne Dyer said to remind yourself daily that there is no way to happiness; rather, happiness is the way. it is so true! When we are all trying to find happiness or thought we found it, did it really work? Were we really happy? We have to find it within ourselves and trust the Tao. he also states to not let your desires obscure your eternal connection to the Tao. We need to stay connected and it takes practice and work.
