The supreme good is like water,
which nourishes all things without trying to.
It flows to low places loather by all men.
Therefore, it is like the Tao.
Live in accordance with the nature of things.
In dwelling, be close to the land.
In meditation, go deep in the heart.
In dealing with others, be gentle and kind.
Stand by your word.
Govern with equity.
Be timely in choosing the right moment.
One who lives in accordance with nature
does not go against the way of things.
He moves in harmony with the present moment,
always knowing the truth of just what to do.
~ Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life by Dr. Wayne Dyer
Can you imagine how dependent we are on water? We are made with water. We drink it, bath in it, dance in it, are nourished by it. It is part of us and we of it. It is beautiful to look at, it is free from everything, no one controls it. We must be like water…be free, be smooth, just be as we are supposed to be in nature. Help each other grow, don’t be negative or be more important than others. Live in peace and harmony, like water.
I tell you, this is a different way to think but there is an underlying message that has made itself perfectly clear in each of these verses…living beyond you EGO, don’t put you more important than others. Live naturally and with the Tao or Spirit or God. Be connected with that as we are with it.
